We have been contacted by PicRights regarding an image on our website. Is this legitimate?
Yes, Cephas Picture Library strives to protect the interests, intellectual property, and livelihoods of the contributors with whom we work, and for this purpose we have mandated PicRights to manage copyright compliance on our behalf.
Registering means that you can create lightboxes. Once prices have been agreed we can then give you an account upgrade which allows downloading of hi-res images without prepayment.
I’ve forgotten my password
You can request a password reminder by clicking on ‘Forgotten’, this sends you an email to the address you registered with us.
What price are your images?
The prices we charge for our images are dependent on a range of factors: from the size at which the image is to be used, the placement, or the frequency with which a client will purchase images. It is best to email us with this information so that we can offer you our best prices.
Can I negotiate prices if I use your images regularly?
We can usually set up a pricing agreement with clients who will be using us on a regular basis: contact us to discuss.
How do you send me an image?
All our hi-res images are available for immediate download as high quality jpegs with the size dependent on your specifications. Most images are >50MB, so A3 or larger at 300ppi. Those that are smaller are marked with the size available. If you require an image which is not hi-res (LR) it will be scanned and made ready for you to download, usually within one hour.
I want to order an image on your website but it appears unsharp. Do you have a better quality version?
This will be an old, lo-res scan. We will do a new hi-res scan of the transparency and upload this version for you to download, usually within one hour.
Can I search by image numbers?
Yes, our image numbers work just as keywords. You can also use ‘wildcards’ for keywords. The wildcard symbol is an asterisk ‘*’; searching for vine* will also return all images of vines, vineyards etc.
Can I search by Contributor or Orientation?
These features are available in the ‘Advanced Search’ tab.
